Miyazaki Private Tour
Miyazaki, located at the southern part of Kyushu along the Pacific, has been favored by city folks as their holiday destination since long ago for its laidback atmosphere and the longest sunlight hours in Japan. The area is also well-known for the ancient unique shrines from the age of myth and the historic sites. Come Down South to Miyazaki if you want to take a breather from the bustling towns!

Cape Toi
Located at the southernmost tip of Miyazaki, Cape Toi will give you the panoramic view of the Pacific with native cycad and greenery. The cape is also known as a habitat for a Japanese native breed of horse, Misaki Uma. Let’s enjoy easy “game drive” to say hello to the native horses!

Kojima monkey watching
Located at the north of Toi cape, Kojima is a small uninhabited island known as a hidden habitat of Japanese macaques. It has been designated as a national natural monument in 1953 and well-preserved for primatological study. Hop on a fishing boat and visit the monkeys to greet them, “Konnichiwa!!”
* ¥1.000 extra for boat ride

Udo Jingu shrine
Located near Aburatsu port, Udo Jingu (shrine) is set in a cave on the side of a cliff overlooking the Pacific and there are a few legends concerning the first emperor Jinmu and his grandmother, Toyotamahime with the area. It’s also a popular spot, known as a “power spot” for young generation, especially for the famous Undama (luck balls) throwing.

Obi castle town
Also known as “little Kyoto in Kyushu”, Obi castle town has been well-conserved since Edo period(1600s-1800s) with the castle walls made of Obi stone and the Samurai residences made of local Obi cedar. Nice to stroll around the peaceful cozy town with carps in the streams. Best visits on the cherry blossoms and autumn leaves seasons.
* ¥800 extra for entrance fee

Sakamoto rice terraces
Approx. 15-minute drive from Obi castle town, Sakamoto rice terraces will give you a classic Japanese countryside scenery. Best to visit from early summer to early autumn when the planted rice is in the puddies.

Shōchū distillery
Shōchū is a Japanese distilled liquor made of rice, barley, sweet potato, or brown sugar. Sweet popato Shōchū is typically distilled in Miyazaki and widely favored by the local people as well as domestic visitors. Enjoy watching the process of making Shōchū and try some sips before heading back to your cruise ship or hotel!
What is Japanese sake brewing as UNESCO’s cultural Heritage??
