Kagoshima Private Tour
A “tailor-made” style English speaking private tour by car in Kagoshima, just for you. Visit the symbolic island “Sakurajima” by ferry to explore the active volcanic mountain area and Sengan-en Garden, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015, for a tranquil stroll. Easy to access from Kagoshima port or the downtown.

Sakurajima Excursion
Sakurajima is one of the most active volcanoes in Japan and the minor eruptions often take place with the smoke coming out from the top. Nice to hike on Nagisa Lava Trail (approx. 3 km), extends from the ferry terminal, to experience the volcano’s dynamism and take the foot bath or even soak in the public hot spring for refreshing afterwards… Ferry ride for 15 minutes.
* ¥250 extra for ferry (one way)

Sengan-en garden
Built in 1658 and set against the backdrop of Kinko Bay and the symbolic Sakurajima, Sengan-en is one of the finest examples of a feudal lord’s garden in Japan and a must-go place while you are in Kagoshima. You can enjoy the fascinating mix of Japanese, Chinese and Western influences throughout the garden and the breathtaking view of Sakurajima as well.
* ¥1.600 extra for entrance fee

Satsuma Kiriko glassworks
Satsuma Kiriko is a traditional style of cut glass born in Kagoshima at the end of Edo period (1600s-1800s) as a part of modernization. It is made by layering colored glass over clear glass and carefully cutting patterns into the outer layer. At the factory, you can watch the master craftsmen creating the glassworks.
* Closed on Monday and the 3rd Sunday.

Shiroyama park obsevatory
Walk up the 2 km promenade for the great view overlooking Sakurajima and Kinko bay. More than 600 species of plants and some birds along the promenade will be waiting for you. Also accessible by car to the top.
